INTRODUCTION
Device for collecting data from sale points and notifying about the need to renew product stocks.
The core of the project is a hardware and software solution providing HoReCa venues with a possibility to monitor the status online, get instant notifications and manage historical data of:
refrigerators/shelves with food
kegs with beer
wine containers
BUSINESS OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the project set for iomico team by the Client were the following:
to plan, design and develop a hardware and software MVP (minimum viable product) version of the solution to prove the feasibility of the project;
to integrate developed devices and new applications into the ecosystem of the client’s existing solutions.
BUSINESS PROBLEM/OPPORTUNITY
Absence of effective data collection about product sales and product availability;
Not effective management of product stocks in sales points.
APPROACH
iomico team created hardware and software solutions for collecting data from sale points and notifying a user about the need to renew product stocks with main technological features sufficient for commercial use and user feedback. The solution consists of Web and Mobile application which interact with scales installed in fridges and beer kegs and allows the user to:
track weight change
monitor room temperature
receive an analysis of demand and the timing of the delivery of the goods based on the time of day/ day of the week/ type of product.
track idle time of shelves/fridge etc.
create geolocation and specify settings;
build a diagram about merchandisers working hours;
plan volume of orders from goods suppliers.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Weight is determined using an analog load cell.
4 load cells are located on one platform.
Up to 5 platforms can be connected to the single Hub.
Weight measuring range: from 0.1kg to 30 kg (first model), from 0.5kg to 200 kg (second model).
Digitization of data received from the sensors done with using 24-bit delta-sigma ADC.
Communication between Hub and Transmitter via RS-485.
The Hub transmits information via GSM to the server.
Real-time weight monitoring with a mobile app
Change sending interval on the server (60sec-min, 1day-max)
Stores data on the device in case of Internet connection loss.
The configuration of Smart Scales devices is done via Bluetooth.
Wide power supply range: 6-36 VDC.
High accuracy temperature sensor (-55 to +125).
The system stores the data in the cloud, then all the data is visible on mobile and web.
CONCLUSION
The project aimed to address the challenges faced by HoReCa venues in managing product stocks effectively. The hardware and software solution developed by the iomico team successfully tackles the problem of ineffective data collection and stock management in sales points with the following key features:
weight and temperature track / alerts setup
receive an analysis of demand and the timing of the delivery
scales geolocation
